The community threat has been lifted and Logan High School has returned to regular operations.
This is an important message from Logan High School. We have successfully completed the Statewide Tornado Drill. All schools have returned to their normal operating schedules, and students can now be signed in and out. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during today’s drill. We would like to thank all students / staff and emergency personnel for making safety a top priority in Logan County Schools.

During this time, school buildings may be locked down and no one will be allowed to sign in or out. Phone calls to the school may also go unanswered during the drill. At the conclusion of the drill, parents/guardians will be notified, and all schools will return to normal operating procedures. This is a reminder from Logan High School. On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, there will be no school for students at LHS. Students planning to ride the pep bus must have their own transportation to and from school. Only the students who signed up today, may ride the pep bus, which leaves at 7:30 AM sharp.
Logan County Schools 2024-25 School Calendar Revisions:
Students will now attend school on the following days in order to make up lost instructional days:
Friday, March 14, 2025, Friday, May 30, 2025, and Monday, June 2, 2025, through Friday, June 6, 2025.
Tuesday, March 11, 2025, and Thursday, March 13, 2025, buses will not run for students at LHS and there will be no school for students. On Friday, March 14, 2025, there will be school for students at LHS. School is open for students at LHS Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week.
Logan High School will be playing in the 2025 WV High School Girls’ Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Logan High will be closed for students. Bus transportation will be provided for high school students to attend the game & back if a student is interested in attending.
Verdunville area students will be releasing from Logan High School at 9:30 AM 1/31/25 due to road conditions in the area.

Upcoming Active Threat Drill at LHS on October 8th, 2024
Logan County Schools will be pushing out the “See Something, Send Something” App on all middle and high school student issued Chromebooks on Monday, October 7, 2024
The “See Something, Send Something” App may be used for the following:
Students may utilize the App to report suspicious activity or potential threats observed.
Students may utilize the App to report information related to illegal drug use, suicide, school violence, bullying, alcohol use and / or vaping.
Students do have the option to submit anonymously.
The “See Something, Send Something” App does NOT replace reporting information to a teacher, principal and / or a school resource officer. It is simply another avenue for students to report information when a staff member may not be available.
The “See Something, Send Something” App is NOT intended for emergency situations. For situations requiring an immediate response, notify or call 911 or your local law enforcement directly.
All information sent through the “See Something, Send Something” App is sent directly to Capitol Police School Safety Unit at the WV State Capitol Complex for evaluation and review. Once screened, local school officials and / or first responders may be notified.
Any individual who utilizes the “See Something, Send Something” App as a hoax, prank, or joke will be disciplined accordingly under WVBE Policy 4373 and referred to law enforcement.
How to use Yearbook Snap
· Download the Yearbook Snap app to your phone
· Once downloaded, open the app and search for Logan High School in the search bar (make sure to click the one for Logan, WV, not Ohio).
· Enter the Yearbook Code: Wildcats 2024 (exactly like that, if you don’t capitalize and add a space, it will not work).
· Upload your favorite pictures to the app! These pictures will be added directly to the Yearbook Website for a chance to be added to the Yearbook this year!
· You can add 5 pictures at one time, but you can add pictures multiple times.
Students can take their own pictures throughout the week to upload to the appropriate album on the Yearbook Snap app. They have to type in the code exactly how it’s written or else they won’t get into the page.
